NOTE: The ability to create a reseller account is only available to VPS or Dedicated Server owners with full WHM/cPanel license
A reseller account is a shared hosting account with the ability to sell shared hosting accounts of it’s own. This allows your clients to sell to clients of their own and therefore expand your business. A great business oportunity for both you and your client.
Creating a Reseller starts by creating a new account in your WHM
1. From your main WHM panel click the “Account Functions” option
2. Select “Create a New Account”
4. Fill out the new account options in order to create a new account. In the options when creating a new account, check the option named “Make the account a Reseller”
5. When all options are filled out, finish creating the new account by selecting “Create”
6. After account is created, go back to the home page, click the WHM button on the top left
7. Find and select the “Resellers” option
8. Select the “Edit Reseller Nameservers and Privileges” option
9. Select the newly created reseller from the list of resellers on the left.
10. This page now shows you options the new reseller will have available. Select a combination of options you want reseller to have.
Note: Options necessary for most resellers are:
Account Information
- List Accounts
Acount Management
- Unsuspend
- Change Passwords
- Create
- Terminate
- Upgrade/DowngradePackages
- Add/Remove
- Edit
11. After selecting the privileges and options available to your reseller account, save the list of options chosen for any future resellers to use the same options.
“Save this list as (optional) ” Select a name for the list in the textbox
12. In the Nameservers option, add the nameservers the reseller’s clients will use.
( Note: Usually reseller’s nameservers are set to the main reseller’s domain ie. ns1.resellerdomain.com ns2.resellerdomain.com )
14. Save the changes to the reseller privileges by clicking the “Save all Settings” button
Your new reseller account is now created. Client will now log into their WHM by using the server’s ip address ie. 199.111.111.111/whm ( or their domain name once DNS is propagated )
